Meet Our Caring Optometry Team

Kurt graduated from the Queensland University of Technology in 1997 and began working in independent private practice in Brisbane. He moved to Adelaide in 1999 for what was originally a six month stint that's turned out to be two decades! With an interest in ocular diseases he completed his therapeutic qualifications in 2012. Kurt and his wife Jenny were proud to start South Coast Optometrists in 2016, which was previously Graeme Jenkins Optometrist. He has a passion for optometry and caring for families in the local area. He has two sons, is an amateur beekeeper, and is a past president of Optometry South Australia.

Jenny graduated from the University of Melbourne in 1998, after completing an externship in Nepal. As she grew up in rural Victoria, she spent the next few years working in Bendigo and Maryborough, before moving to Adelaide. In 2016 she and her husband Kurt proudly started South Coast Optometrists, which was previously known as Graeme Jenkins Optometrists. Jenny has a passion for patient care, loves working with children, and you'd be hard pressed to find a sunnier personality. She has two sons who continue to pretend they aren't impressed that she can solve a Rubik's Cube in under three minutes.

Hayley grew up in country Victoria and moved to South Australia to study Optometry at Flinders University. After discovering the stunning beaches she never wants to leave. Her passion in optometry is working with children, including vision assessment and vision training. Her article about ‘Pseudoexfoliation Glaucoma’ has been published in Optometry Australia’s Pharma Journal and she has also presented at several continuing professional development seminars.

Lisa is originally from Donald, a small country town in rural Victoria. She moved to Adelaide to study optometry at Flinders University in 2012. Lisa has worked in both independent and corporate optometry since graduating. However she always found her way back to independently owned practices with more time to build relationships with patients and of course deliver comprehensive eye health examinations with the utmost care. Lisa has a special interest in diagnosing and managing different eye diseases. In her spare time she loves to bake all things sweet and enjoy Adelaide's most delicious eateries!
